SPACEFINGER
NEWS March 25, 2009 On the Downloads page I have added four Archives of recent Spacefinger albums. Hours, if not days, of trippy ambient soundscape musical concrete music.
March 29, 2007 - Spacefinger ... Report Coming in ... Spacefinger ... Report coming in ... Much activity in the Spacefinger world. I've actually recorded a massive amount of material and find that there is nowhere for it to go. I've been so busy that I didn't even have time to update this site. The Ambient series was the first step in a long succession of creative breakthroughs and, ultimately, a large quantity of unreleased material. Massive catalogue of albums, half-albums, sprawling tracks, and at least 15 hours of 30 - 90 minute slabs of sound I call "Symphoniums" (a machine for generating music). The online store may still happen at some point, but for now I'm going to continue to keep "Ambient Five" posted for download on this page. Abstracct 1-3 On the download page you will find my most recent work "Abstracct" (a three disc set.) These will be available in 128K mp3 files as well as lossless FLAC files. Files for the cover art will also be included. These downloads will only be available for a short time, so grab them while you can. MP3 Works Also, two mp3-only projects called "Lucifer and Sasifras" and "Meditations." You can split them up into separate cds if you wish, but I recommend just keeping them as mp3s. That's how they were designed. Spacefinger music is a combination of many "ambient" themed styles such as soundscapes, musical concrete, and some new ideas of my own that I don't think fit any one style. The music is worked up using samples, though not in the traditional sense of the word. The samples are sculpted using Cool Edit Pro's "Music" feature. This can render notes on to a sound, but the sound is mutated in such a way unlike a keyboard that it is virtually unrecognizable and therefore, a new sound. I hope to write a more detailed piece on what this music is, where it comes from, and why I think it has value. Work continues on the Landru album (or whatever I call my "vocal" counterpart on conical records. The reasons are mainly that there is another Mike Fuller out there on the net and Landru has become associated with me through the myspace site.) Also, stay tuned for the first published novel (self-published) called "Peter Askew". |
